A Better Person

It was never instilled in me as I was young to be a better person. My parents always told us kids to know right from wrong and don’t do this or that.

Don’t get me wrong, my parents loved me and my siblings, but the intimate conversations were left out. I am the youngest of four. My parents attended church with my two oldest siblings before my sister and I were born. Then they stopped attending. Jesus was left out.

When my husband and I attend church, we see young children coming in with their parents. What a beautiful sight! Kids learn from their parents and teaching starts from home.

That we, assisted by the Holy Spirit, be fruitful and glorify God in all that we do. We are His workmanship, “art” that He created, that He transformed. We cannot do this on our own.

Are we justified by ourselves? No! It is the gift of God by faith, in having a new life in Christ.

"I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:16-19)

It is so important to teach your kids to be a better person. Teach your kids to love Jesus. Loving Jesus helps us to love one another. What an amazing feeling we receive when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The love from Him makes us a better person, equips up to love others, and transforms us.

Parents, live in a manner worthy of God so your kids will as well. Fathers, instill in your children’s life the love of Jesus and what He did for a mankind. Be persistent in prayer so that they will pray. Be persistent in reading the Bible to them. Open the Bible when they come to you with questions. Guide them into a faithful life.

I pray for everyone to be a better person. Do not live according to this world. Live in a manner that glorifies God in what He created us to be. We are His creation, not the worlds. Let us dwell, get on our knees and pray each day for all the blessings that are given by God through faith.
