Deceived

My husband and I have been attending the Methodist church for several years. The denomination has been divided by the LGBTQ, and pastors, trying to take the denomination over to conform the Methodist to their ways.

Before I continue, I want to say that I have no problem at all with anyone attending service. All are welcome to hear the gospel.

The concern that I have are those who live that lifestyle, and wanting to lead in the church and preach from the Bible.

Conversion means to turn from your old ways of living, being dead in sin, to being alive in Christ. It does not mean, accept God and continue to live a life you want. The Traditional Methodists are going through what has been many years of voting for the truth, Gods truth.

But this post is not only about groups who want to change other people. It is about people who have deceived others in such a way, and at a level of hierarchy, that the deception is unbearable.

The Methodist are divided within districts. The bishop in one district who recently retired, has been very forward and vocal on her views. She is considered liberal and accepting of others. Yes, we should love all people, but it does not mean we should accept their lifestyle. Accepting would go against God.

Yesterday, I read a recent article not only of her acceptance of others, but her acceptance of her husband’s transgender. Her husband who is a reverend is now, in his or her words, “As I entered into a greater understanding of the diversity of gender, I realized all binary thinking is flawed.”

Transgender is changing your sexual identity from what you thought you were at birth. It saddens me to read this because it is not walking in obedience to God or God’s design for us. Healing can be found in God.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

Society wants us to conform to what is outside of the Bible. It takes one person, one thought, one view, to change minds, twist Scripture and accept what is not biblical.

“A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this.” (Deuteronomy 4:2)

When you accept God as your Lord and Savior, your life is regenerated by the new life that is offered through the work of Christ on the cross by being born again. The Christians life is being “set apart” from sin and is “set apart” To God.

This shows how Satan can creep into the minds of all people, even Christians. We must keep God as our foundation, not the world and it’s evil ways. Even those who are in the position of the church are against God’s Word.

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (Ephesians 6:11)

My husband and I no longer attend the Methodist church. We do not want to be a part of a denomination that has turmoil and deceit within. And though the Traditional Methodist’s are trying to separate and become their own entity, this may take years.

“Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.” (Revelations 22:11)

Please do not conform to this world. Do not be deceived by anyone. The truth is the Word of God.

  1. It’s sad to think that so many believe that in order to love a sinner, we have to accept their sinful ways. It’s why I always say, “we hate the sin BECAUSE we love the sinner.” Distinguishing the two needs to be pronounced.

    1. So true. And when people tell me that God loves everyone, I tell them he does love everyone but he does not love the sin that they are living. And if we do not repent and turn from sin we will not have an eternal life with God. Thank you for reading and blessings to you.

  2. As the world continues to twist truths, paint evil as good and good evil, many are being deceived and led astray.

What’s most shocking is the children of God who ignore God’s word to accommodate sin and make people feel better about their unhealthy choices.

We’re in the end times, no doubt. Truly brave of you to address this subject. More grace 🙏🏾

May the Lord open the eyes of the church as we live through these scary times.
