O’ Christmas Tree

My family, like many other families have Christmas traditions. One in particular I always wanted to do but never did was go Christmas caroling. First of all, my kids never wanted to, and second, I can’t sing. So….

Every year we go to a local Christmas tree farm and cut down a Christmas tree. The farm has homemade wreaths and ornaments as well. We would go weeks before to tag the tree. Our girls would alternate years and pick one and as Christmas gets closer we go back and cut it down.

There’s nothing like bringing the smell of a fresh cut Christmas tree in the house. It’s just a pain bringing it in the house and sweeping up the pine needles. And of course I’m the one who waters the tree every day and sweep all the pine needles.

This year was a little different. Since the kids are on their own, I was debating on an artificial tree. I don’t know why I was making this so difficult to decide. So my husband and I went to look at artificial trees. It took almost an hour and I could not make a decision because I was thinking of a real tree. I was taking too long so my husband picked one out himself.

So instead of buying a normal artificial Christmas tree, he picked a tree that had all white lights, and all different colored lights and blinked. All this on one tree. Just a little too flashy for me, oh and the lights came on the tree already. I thought I would have to put the lights on myself. That’s how much I know!

Seriously the tree looks so fake. Because it is fake!!! 🙄

Next year I’m picking the tree that I really want. Clearly I am affected by this.

Whether you have a real tree or an artificial tree, or whatever your Christmas tradition is, remember what the true meaning of Christmas is about. The birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is what God did for you, for me, for all! He is the only one that gives joy, brings hope and gives life. He is the Light of the World!

Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you.

Stay safe, stay healthy and God Bless you! 💕
