I always find it funny how some people speak and no one is listening. I don’t mean funny haha, but funny how it goes in one ear and out the other. Then the other person asks, “well, what do you think?” You can’t answer because you weren’t listening or it didn’t make sense.
If something doesn’t make sense, it’s hard to get a response. It’s not difficult to listen, but it’s difficult to actually hear to understand.
“With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand. He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.”(Mark 4:33)

Jesus told stories, spoke in parables and taught in ways so others could remember. Certainly not everyone understood, but it made them have to listen and think about what was said. We are changed by the stories Jesus spoke.
That’s what we need to do now. When we speak from the Bible, we should tell stories like Jesus did and still does. Stories are easier to understand, stories come to life and we listen to what is spoken. A good story keeps us on our toes, makes us wait for the next move. But these stories are from Jesus and this is how we are transformed.
Next time you have the opportunity to speak from the Bible, make a connection, and have the other person listen to what is spoken. Share what Jesus can offer, share His stories.
Stay safe, stay healthy and God Bless!

This is true. 🙂
The use of Bible stories helps or we can use our personal encounters or experiences too. 💯

Listening is a hard skill, isn’t it? Many people listen to answer, not listen to listen.

Sandy, my sister is amazed by how I am able to story-tell and each and every story has a moral to it, a meaning to it, a higher one when those with ears to hear do hear. (Many of those stories I publish on my blog.) You are so right that so many don’t hear. It’s unreal for I have experienced that and when I do I know amazement is on my face as the other person interprets something I never even said. HUH? When our hearts are centered with God, only truth and love are spoken from our mouths. Those who do not have God in their hearts are deaf to those words I speak. If I didn’t see this for myself, I don’t think I would believe it. Loved your post. Thank you!! xo
