Prepare Yourself

I like the loud sounds of thunderstorms and the rain hitting the windows. When a storm is approaching, I sit on my front porch and watch it come across the field. The rain becomes louder, and then bam, out of know where it gets stronger and lightning hits. Then I go in.

I don’t mind storms, but I do not like tornado watches or warnings. I become a little nervous, and constantly watch the news and pray to God that we will be safe.

COVID came with little warning and everyone scrambled for toilet paper, Lysol and other items. Now it may come in a second wave, and hopefully we can be more prepared if it happens. I pray it does not.

It’s good to be prepared or somewhat prepared for what could happen in our lives. But even more important than any storm or virus is preparing yourself for Jesus.

“So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” ( Matthew 24:44)

We don’t know the day or hour, but when Jesus returns will you be prepared? Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess. The Bible is telling the whole story. God’s kingdom will come.

  • We can prepare by trusting in God and praying to Him.
  • We can prepare by confessing all sins.
  • We can prepare by worshipping, reading our Bible and listen to God.
  • We can prepare by seeking God daily, not just on Sunday.

I pray that you are preparing yourself for Jesus. I want you to receive the blessings of our Lord. The Book of Revelation calls for people to repent. Jesus told John to write down what will take place.

“Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later. The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.” (Revelation 1:19-20)

We can either follow the Lamb or follow the beast. There are only two ways. Which way are you prepared for, and how are you preparing? Jesus will return.

Stay safe, stay healthy and God Bless
