I remember years ago I thought I was called to ministry. I had this deep feeling inside and was waiting for a nudge, push or fall. It happened during my church’s annual conference. Towards the end of the conference, the bishop would ask anyone or all forward who had or felt they had the call to ministry. Well, that deep feeling that I had for a moment, was just that, only a moment.
I am blessed that I am pursuing my degree in Religion Christian Counseling. And though my call to ministry has now changed, it really hasn’t. My call is to minister as a disciple.

Our commitment as a Christian is to follow Jesus and obey the call to discipleship. Are you making an impact on the lives of others? Are you telling others about Jesus? If you don’t have that love, then how will you have that love to disciple or even speak of Him? I’m not saying it is easy to speak, but what I am saying is that we can’t hide from speaking.
“But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.” (Philippians 2:17-18)
I am so excited to not only start my counseling classes, but my evangelism classes in the upcoming year. Oh, how I pray that God prepares me for this so I may speak in an eloquent and meaningful way. π But our individual skill or success is not what’s important, it is about God and the work He is doing.
We must be willing to follow Jesus and live for the kingdom. My hope is that each of you reading this, will follow and live for His kingdom. It’s about serving. God has given us our own gifts, and though I was not called into professional ministry, you and I must minister and serve.
Paul states that he is a servant of the gospel.
“I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power.” (Ephesians 3:7)
Stay healthy, stay safe and God Bless.
Glad to know you are fully into ministry and taking classes too. π€ And yes, we all are called into ministry – different, functions but one body called by the same spirit. π

May we all identify, apply ourselves and walk into our purpose. I pray that the joy of the Lord will work wonders as you seek to do the master’s will.
